Bricks per square metre
A standard UK brick (215 × 65 mm) with 10 mm mortar joints works out at about 60 bricks per square metre for a single-skin (half-brick) wall. A US modular brick (7⅝ × 2¼ in) with ⅜ in joints is about 6.9 bricks per square foot.
Double the result for a full-brick (double-skin) wall, and add 5% for cuts and breakages.
