How the planting grid is counted

Subtract the edge setback twice from each plot dimension. Each remaining line holds floor(usable length รท spacing) + 1 planting positions, including both ends when they fit. Multiply rows by trees per row. Density per acre or hectare ignores boundary losses, so it is not the same as the exact plot count.

This is a rectangular-grid estimate, not a recommendation for tree species. Mature canopy size, roots, buildings, services, local planting rules and access can change suitable spacing. Confirm the layout with a nursery or arborist; this tool does not model staggered planting or irregular land.
