Sheets, sizes and waste
Divide the total wall or ceiling area by the area of one sheet and add 10% for cut-outs and offcuts. The common sizes are 8 × 4 ft (US drywall) and 2400 × 1200 mm (UK plasterboard).
The screw estimate assumes roughly 32 screws per 8 × 4 sheet on studs at 16 in (400 mm) centres.
