Bark coverage and bag sizes
Bark volume equals bed length × bed width × depth. Convert depth from centimetres to metres first. One cubic metre equals 1,000 litres. Divide the total litres, including your allowance, by the bag volume and round up.
Measure irregular beds as separate rectangles and add their results. Bag sizes vary by supplier; enter the volume printed on the bag. Keep bark away from plant stems and tree trunks, and check suitable depth for the plants and product you are using.
