Why '7 dog years' is a myth
Dogs mature very quickly: a one-year-old dog is roughly equivalent to a 15-year-old human, and a two-year-old to about 24. After that, ageing slows — but how much depends on size. Small dogs add around 4 human years per year, while giant breeds add 7 or more.
