Bed volume, mix and bags
Use internal bed dimensions and only the depth you intend to fill. Volume = length × width × fill depth. A 1.2 × 0.8 × 0.3 m bed holds 288 L. With the editable 60/30/10 example, this is 172.8 L topsoil, 86.4 L compost and 28.8 L aeration material.
The example mix is not suitable for every crop or soil. Choose materials and proportions for your plants with nursery advice. Shares must total 100%. Bag counts round each component up separately and assume the same entered bag size for all components; check product labels.
